The Tattooing Process
The Tattooing Process is a step-by-step overview of what you can expect the
day you come in for your tattoo.
1. The first thing you will do when you come in for your appointment is to
choose the pattern, design, or image that you would like for the artists at Elevens to capture for you. In our lobby we have an entire wall of display
boards with sample patterns and designs for you to choose from. If you already
have a design please bring it with you. Remember, at Double Elevens custom work is our specialty!
2. Next, the tattooist will do an ID check to ensure that you are of legal
age. Please be advised that Double Elevens Tattoo & Piercing refuses service to any individual under the age of 18. We prefer individuals wait until they reach the age of majority. As part of the age check/ID verification process,
you will be asked to sign a consent and release form authorizing the tattooist
to perform the procedure. Before you sign the consent agreement, the tattooist
will go over the form with you to ensure that you understand and are comfortable
with the health and safety issues and risks involved with tattooing.
3. Now you are ready to begin the tattoo application process. The tattooist
will mount the newly opened needle set in the machine and will set up the pigments
that will be used in containers in front of you. We set up the pigments that
will be used in front of you so that you can see that we do not re-use pigments.
4. The area to be tattooed will be washed, disinfected, then shaved. Once clean
and sterile, the outline/stencil of the design will be applied to the cleaned/sterile
area. The outline is the gude that the tattooist will use when applying the
pigments.
5. Now, the main step, the tattooist will apply the tattoo using the needles
and the pigments.
6. After the tattoo has been applied, the tattooist will once again wash the
area and then apply a sterile dressing. Before you leave the tattooist will
discuss the care and cleaning procedures for your new tattoo.
7. There - you''re done! Your new work of body art is now complete!
The PIercing Process
Double Elevens prides itself in the ability to make even
the most nervous of clients feel safe, comfortable and calm using our compassionate
approach before, during, and after each piercing procedure.
All equipment is single service and autoclave sterilized
for your continued health and safety. Our staff is fully trained in matters
related to infection control and correct anatomical placement of your piercing.
WE DO NOT PIERCE ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18. IF YOU ARE
BETWEEN THE AGE OF 16 UP TO ONE DAY PRIOR TO YOUR 18TH BIRTHDAY PROSPECTIVE
CLIENTS MUST HAVE PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN WITH YOU.
(See our FAQ section for requirements and documentation)
We require that all clients eat a high protein, low carbohydrate
meal AT LEAST ONE HOUR prior to receiving service. This will prevent any unpleasant
side effects associated with any invasive procedure such as; nausea, vomiting,
loss of consciousness, or seizures (petite and grand mal). We ask that you bring
a friend with you if you are concerned about experiencing possible reactions
to the piercing procedure or think you may be unable to operate your vehicle.
Our receptionist will ask you if you have eaten a substantial meal prior to
receiving service and if you reply with a negative, we reserve the right to
refuse service. A candy bar or muffin is NOT considered to be substantial nutrition,
so please feed yourself!
Please inform our staff if you are diabetic or have a
medical condition that we must be aware of such as a history of fainting spells,
tremors, seizures, mitral valve prolapse or other heart conditions. We must
be informed if you are currently taking any medications which may retard or
complicate the healing of your piercing - such as blood thinners.
Different fees apply for different types of piercings.
Please contact us for specific piercing costs.
